Let's Create a Legacy: The Introduction

Hello and welcome!

Despite my long, on and off again years as a Sims player, I've never actually attempted a proper legacy story. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out on Friday so I figured what better way to distract me from the operation than to start one?

I contacted my friend Shane, and asked him to join in. (He is using the Sims 3) He's never done one before either and is an avid Simmer, if not more-so than me. You can follow his story here.

I decided to pick relatively easy 'laws' for this story, simply because it's my first time running one. I was super tempted by the other options though. Nonetheless, here is what I chose:

Gender law: Strict Equality
Bloodline law: Strict Traditional
Heir Law: Living Will
Species Law: Brood

NOTE: This story and blog is a bit of a slow process. So don't expect too many updates back to back. Thanks for understanding. :D

Introduction

So here it is. The very first home. Or as we like to call it "the square." Because lets face it. It really isn't much else.

This is our star! Posing absentmindedly within "the square." I'm fairly confident she's not quite sure what to make of it yet.

"She" how rude of me. We should probably introduce the first of this venture. Her name is Olivia.
Olivia is an outgoing, romatic sim who loves to cosy up with a good book. She plans to start her own painting business some day, being an avid artist and all. Olivia is a part of the Business. Someday she'll be making master pieces.

Olivia asked me to stop rambling so she could say something to the readers, or rather, I say it for her. She wishes for the readers to please ignore the woman wearing next to nothing, jogging in the background.

Because the start of this story is all about her! When she's not idly distracted, that is.

Obviously there wasn't much to do, yet. However, Olivia recalled she chose this lot specifically for the lakeside views and the fishing pools.

So first order of business was to catch some fish it seems!

Olivia jogged down towards the lakeside and threw in a rod. She gazed out at the water before her. So relaxing.

Hold on a sec, was that a bite? Already??

Nope. False alarm. Olivia laughed, "fooled you! Have fun sitting there watching me for the next sim hour."

Needless to say, she actually made me sigh. We loitered around a bit. Olivia had many false alarms with her rod. Regardless, she just vacantly smiled away.

"We'll catch something soon, right?"

She remained optimistic about the idea.

Next minute she had another bite on her line. (For like, the umpteenth time)

This time it sure looked promising.

She weeled it in. What a beauty! Olivia has caught her first fish.

"Who would have though fishing could be this fun!" Olivia exclaimed as she imagined how she was going to cook it up for dinner.

"But first. Let me take a selfie."

Olivia hadn't made any friends just yet, so she uploaded it to some gallery or whatever she keeps on her phone for memorabilia.

You really need to make some friends, Liv. I told her.

"I know." She replied quietly.

Apparently Olivia wasn't interested in heading back home yet. I told her that she might want to get that fish out of her invisible pocket, but she refused to listen, and wandered off playing with her phone.

At some point throughout her walk she'd put away her phone and got lost in space. Nearly walking into this gentlesim.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry!" She said, almost bumping into him.

"You should watch where you're walking." Suggested the gentleman.

"I will be sure to in the future..." Olivia replied.
..."Christopher" The gentleman introduced himself as her words trailed off.

"What a lovely name." Olivia replied, introducing herself in return.

Olivia and Christopher seemed to hit it off okay. No hostile actions. This was a good sign.

They chatted for a good while before Olivia decided it was getting late. Plus she was starting to struggle to listen to Christopher as he spoke.

The two parted ways, and Olivia walked back home.

Anyway, Olivia finally realized we forgot to factor in a fridge when creating her square.

She seriously couldn't believe it. Of all things... no fridge?!!

"What were you thinking?!" She rightly exclaimed..

"Oh gosh... what if I get hungry..."

"This is sooooooooo depressing."

It's okay Liv, we'll figure it out. Get some sleep. You have your first day at work in the morning. We'll be (hopefully) able to get a fridge then.

So, our first introduction day wasn't the best. However, I really do hope Olivia can make it through the night (and morning before work) without any food. D=
